State Library of Western Australia – Strategic Development Plan

James St WatercolourThis project involved a fundamental review of how the recent development of Perth as a city has called into question existing Perth Institutions and fabric of the City. We examined the urban context, building, spaces and operating practices of the State Library, in close consultation with the client body. The masterplan proposes interventions, refurbishment strategies and re-engineering of processes and operations to allow the State Library to adapt to the future use patterns of the Perth Cultural Centre and the role demanded of libraries in order to further its’ mission and reinvigorate its relationship with  the people and City of Perth.
